Bethany has called NYC her permanent home since October of 2016. In that time she has worked both on stage and on camera. She flew off and explored Colorado while performing Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act at Lake Dillon during the summer of 2017, before leaving to travel the entirety of the US playing Pat in the National Tour of the Tony Award Winning Musical, Kinky Boots. She made her national TV debut on ABC's What Would You Do? on a special episode co-starring Supermodel Ashley Graham. The episode focused on our culture of body shaming. She was also a featured dancer in Beachbody's workout series Youv2.
Before moving back to NYC, Bethany spent two years in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Bethany moved to Cincinnati after completing her Master's in Musical Theatre from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, Scotland. She graduated with Merit and while there, she performed in London, Glasgow, and Edinburgh- where she was seen at the Fringe in the critically- acclaimed musical, The Addams Family. Out of the 2000+ shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Bethany won the award for Best Performance in a Musical for her portrayal of Alice Beineke. Alongside her performing and studying, she was also Certified with Distinction by the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat in both Unarmed and Rapier/Dagger Stage Combat.
Prior to training at RCS, Bethany graduated with Honors and received a BFA in Musical Theater and a BFA in Acting from Pace University in New York City. At Pace she was seen in shows such as Kiss Me, Kate (Lilli/ Kate), The Syringa Tree (Elizabeth Grace), The Beggar’s Opera (Lucy Lockit), Pterodactyls (Grace), Southern Baptists Sissies (Odette), A Christmas Carol (Mrs. Dilber), Uncommon Women and Others (Muffet), A Lasting Impression (Mother), Exit Row (Female Passenger), Quanah (Lucinda), Love, Sex, and the IRS (Vivian), etc.
Other NYC Credits include: Company (Jenny cover) at Lincoln Center under Lonny Price and Paul Gemignani, Chautauqua! at The Public Theater, Dumb Luck (Lulumae) as a part of the TruVoices' Series, where she played the lead as well as the Flute and Cornet, 420: the musical(Abby/Princess Euphoria) at The Kraine Theatre, NYC Concert appearances at Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Sweet Caroline’s, and Merrily We Roll Along (Mary) that was a special production under the mentorship of Lonny Price and the Original Broadway Cast.
While in Cincinnati, she became the Artistic Director of the Indian Hill Performing Art Academy and directed Legally Blonde Jr, High School Musical, and assistant directed/choreographed Shrek Jr. Outside of IHPA, she directed The Sound of Music, assisted on Aladdin Jr, fight choreographed Little Women, and performed with The Cincinnati Children's Theatre of Cincinnati as Ursula in The Little Mermaid Jr , as well as multiple roles in their Christmas Tour, Elves and the Shoemaker. She teaches for multiple institutions, gives masterclasses, and has begun producing charity driven cabarets.
Bethany is a 2009 high school Theater graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, a boarding school in Northern Michigan that is ranked among the top arts high schools in America- it has won the National Medal for the Arts from the President of the United States. She has studied abroad in Russia, completed RADA's Young Actor's School in London during the Summer of 2008, and in 2009, she was recognized by the National YoungArts Foundation with an Honorable Mention in Theatre. Most recently, she was a 2016 National Finalist in the NATS Musical Theatre Competition in Chicago.
